How to make mens pant pattern cutting and stitching

Men's formal pant pattern making

Hi in this post i will explain you, how to make 38 size men's formal pant pattern and sewing.

◆Using main measurements for pant making:

Size 38

1. Height 37 inch

2. Waist 37 1/2

3. Thigh 26

4.knee 21

5. Bottom 16

6. Crotch 8

7. Seat 42

I will mention some small measurements while placing them in their respective places. the fabric required for this is 1.20 meters. width of fabric is 58" inches

Lay the pant fabric as shown above. This salvage leave it to my side. folding on that opposite side. this is the top side on the right side. left side that is the bottom side

×××× mark is wrong side. √√√√ mark is right side. I leave it rightside inside.

First we draw a margin using l scale. next i make a half inch mark for waist band attaching . next mark three quarter inch for the front slope . next height measurement at the top. it reduced the waistband measurement by 1. 1/2 to make the height 37 inches. bottom heming one inch each double folting . so double mark.

next crotch measurement mark without waist band 8 inches from slope line. also thigh measurement is measured one inch below the crotch line.

The knee measurement is 11 inches below from the crotch measurement.

Mark the center line 7 1/2 from the selvage. connect to the center line.

Bottom 16 .1/2 divided in half 8 .1/4. mark 4 inches each on both sides. knee measure 21. divided in half 10 . 1/2. mark 5 1/4 each on both sides. let me stretch this thigh matk line a bit. thigh measurement 26. divide and half. thirteen both sides. should be 6 . 1/2 each. but i mark that side 6. 3/4 . salvage side 6 .1/4.

let's connect the lines. mark the scale position as i put it. keep the scale bent down.

Mark 1 . 3/4 to make the crotch curve.

Connect the line here . this is the seat measurement area . so scale position should be drawn like this.

Now let's connect this in a straight line.

Waist 37 . 1/2 divide by 4 is 9 and 3/8. s seam allowance 1 inch . total should be 10. 3/8. but here it is 11 . 3/8. there is one inch extra. so let's mark one inch less on the front side.

Now let's connect these lines. the first drawn straight line should be cancelled. let's draw this as a curve.

Zipper attaching place mark is 6 inches

from the top.

let's straighten this line slightly. Waist 10 . 3/8 should come. adjust the waist size like this

pocket cross mark 2.1/4 from side line.

Pocket open mark 6 inches from the top.

mark is done now let's cut . a small cut mark can be done here.

Set it up like this to cut the back part .

Let's slightly extend the lines drawn on the thigh, knee and bottom measurements in the front part.

We will mark 2 inches extra to back part from front. Mark 2 1/4 extra straight just near the length of the thigh .

Let's draw a line by connecting the back part thigh, knee, bottom marks.

Mark half inch seam allowance. From here should mark one inch backwards

From here back rise extend mark 2 3/4 inches

A back part measure 9 3/8 inches. 1 inch back part dart stitch. so we should mark total of 10 3/8 inches.

Make an additional 2 1/2 inches mark here.

Now let's combine these mark like this .

Let's draw this as a curve.

Sheet measures front part 10 1/4. pack part 11. So it's totally correct. now all measurements mark complete. let's cut it.

How to make mens pant back welt pocket mark

Mens pant back welt pocket marks

Back cut pocket mark 2 inches from side. open mark 5 inches. from top 2 3/4 inches. another one centimeter mark for pocket mouth. make a mark in the middle fold the mark center and make a small cut mark on the top for dart stitch.

Take two piece layer for side packet. put like this. measurement height 12 inches Width 7 inches. mark wrong side and right side for easy identify.

This is back welt packet piece. welt packet measure 18 inch length. width 7 1/2 inches..
